Yusuf Patel graduated in 2004 with an LLB Degree from the University of Pretoria. He later went on to obtain an Advanced Insolvency Diploma which allowed him to further his career in Deceased Estates and Insolvent Estates.

Yusuf served his articles at Barnard Khan Attorneys under the supervision of Danie Barnard. After being admitted, Yusuf continued with Barnard Khan Attorneys as a professional assistant where he headed the Deceased and Insolvent Estate Department, which provided services to the Solidary Trade Union, Standard Bank Home Loans, Wades Administrative Solutions, as well as many other trust companies.
